Would you like a little salt with that?

For some reason when it comes to a pit bull attack, it's simply okay, to bypass the normal social standards, and throw a little salt in the wound?
News stations report new attacks, and the people run to the keyboards, hurry and post their pictures of their adorable, pit maulers. when did this become okay? Or am I just missing something? I guess I need to read more articles about drunk driving accidents, perhaps there are people posting photos of themselves sitting in their car with a 12 pack.
Have I just been missing this?
So putting inside the battle, when did this become socially acceptable?
Isn't there anyone else is outraged about this kind of behavior.
Yeah I know freedom of speech, but with freedom of speech, shouldn't we also expect to be critiqued, on the content of our speech?
Speaking of salt, what can a 3 year old child, possibly do that warrants a death sentence?
When a child predator does unspeakable things to a young child, the public is shocked, horrified, and outraged. What is so different about being shredded to death, by a powerful dog?
How is it acceptable to allow these animals, to be returned to owners, who were firstly irresponsible, and secondly, blamed the child, or attack victim?
How about a twist?
Family killed by drunk driver, blamed for accident....
Wait for it, because they chose to drive to store, on Friday night. This is not only illogical, but unheard of.
So why???? The child pulled the dogs ear, you say. If this is reason enough, we should have literally thousands of children, being attacked daily.
How about this? More children are killed in _____ type accidents.
Really? So this one, who was shredded to death, deserved to die? To offset the rest perhaps.
This is some stinking thinking.

    3. A child experiencing an event of threatening or catastrophic nature may experience considerable post-traumatic psychological distress. Dog bites present an important public health problem and are a frequent cause of physical trauma in children. Physicians who manage pediatric trauma may not be vigilant of the high risk of psychological stress in children exposed to a physical injury.
      CASE PRESENTATION:
A 4-year-old white girl of Greek origin, with a dog-bite related trauma was admitted to the University Hospital of Crete, Greece, for surgical repair and intravenous antibiotic therapy due to extensive lesions. Exposure to the traumatic event triggered the onset of an unusual psychological response, selective mutisum and acute post-traumatic stress disorder.
      CONCLUSION:
There is limited literature discussing the psychological effect of dog bites in children. Parents and physicians involved in pediatric physical trauma need to be more familiar with post-traumatic behavioral reactions. Awareness of the potential development of such reactions may result in early detection and effective management of children at risk.
